Another ex-Kimkinite shares her story...

Tonight, on LCF, jcrc1312, who left Kimkins this week, posted about her realization that Kimmer/Heidi is a fraud.

Here is her story:

"a day late and a dollar short
Hello again. It's been a short while since I've posted here. Last time here, I was very pro-Kimkins. And I was angry at what I was reading here. I asked to be removed from this forum, and they kindly "unregistered" me.Long story short...I've changed my tune, come to my senses, smartened up....When I saw those PI pix, I just knew in my heart, it was HER. That was tough for me to swallow. But I told myself it was okay, I can still use the plan cause it works for me. I continued to lurk here and other places, and it all finally started to sink in. I can't explain it, why I couldn't accept the truth. I kept trying to "make it work" in my head. I finally admitted to my dh that my hair is falling out, and has been for about 6 months. So far, that is the only side effect I have experienced. I emailed Christin, and she is such a beautiful and caring person, and it all fell into place. I got in touch with a couple of other ex-kimkinites. And it really is a difficult process to remove yourself from the mindset. It all finally came crashing down the other night at the Kimkins site when Wonderwoman started spouting off. I was there, watching it happen. And again, another lightbulb moment...I knew that it was HER. I was typing my response when the screen went blank, and the whole thread was deleted.I wanted so badly to chat with someone, I was livid! And of course I had burned my bridge here. I have since repented and the admins here kindly reinstated my priveleges. So here I am. I am not very outspoken. But I apologize for being so hard-headed, and thinking so badly of everyone here. You have done an awesome job of getting the word out that KK is not a healthy diet. And SHE is just beyond words! I felt sorry for her at first, but no more. This has got to STOP.Anyway, thanks for listening. And again, I'm sorry for being so judgemental of everyone here. You were right...all along. I'm just glad that I finally came to my senses. JC"

We're so glad, jcrc1312, that you discovered the truth and left the darkness that is Kimkins and Kimmer/Heidi Diaz. Thanks so much for sharing your story. All the very best to you.

Becky weighs in re Kimmer/Kimkins with Part 2 of The Perfect Storm

In her blog, Becky (formerly employed by Kimkins) has today posted Part 2 of The Perfect Storm.

It's a wonderful, revealing read, especially in view of the fact that Becky was an insider at Kimkins before all hell broke loose.

Here's Part 2 (Part 1 follows Part 2 in her blog, Winning Weight Loss):

Kimkins: The Perfect Storm, Part 2
What happens when a deceitful, disordered person promotes effective but defective diet plans which then grow into a dynamic but dysfunctional business?

That confluence forms the perfect recipe for disaster.

The ingredients?

The person, Kimmer/Heidi Diaz

The professional practices of Kimkins

The plans of Kimkins

The plan behind the plans at Kimkins

The people of Kimkins

Now, a look at the professional practices of Kimkins.

Kimmer first gave out her brand of diet advice (as well as hair care and skin care tips) for years on Low Carb Friends, which garnered both followers and foes. I am not sure when the idea of her own site first began in her mind, whether it was all a carefully-laid plan, or just an opportunity too good to pass up when it arose. Judging from her track record of not sticking very long with any one thing (whether it be school or work or a relationship), I would guess that it was the latter. My conjecture is that she joined the diet site in all sincerity, hoping to lose weight like anyone else. She probably learned some things and had some initial success, but then, being Kimmer, she just couldn't help embellishing things a bit, highlighting her successes and ignoring her failings, amplifying it more and more, becoming more extreme over time, as it began to attract some attention. Gradually, the gap between her words and her actions widened, as she could not follow through with her knowledge and intentions, but could not allow herself to back down and admit it, either. She may have done what many of us have done ---- promised herself to get back on track tomorrow, next week, next month, try to be extra strict to make up for it, only to give in to her old ways again. Her real life wasn't working for her at all --- but online she could be the best possible version of herself, everything she every dreamed of, until perhaps she came to believe it herself. The attention and approbation were too addicting. At some point, it seems, delusion reigned supreme, and there was no backing down. As her claims became more grandiose and her polarizing presence began to dominate and draw heat more and more at the LCF forum, another member, Catherine, approached her with the idea of an ebook and a website to sell it. (Read more here.) I think it was the brass ring, the golden goose, and Kimmer/Heidi grabbed at the opportunity for . Once that thought was there, I do believe Kimmer purposely aggravated her enemies and gathered her fans even more, setting the stage for her big exit. Soon, 'Kimmer' flounced off in a huff, and Kimkins.com was launched as a partnership between Heidi Diaz, supposed diet guru and Catherine McDonald, tech expert.

In the early days of the Kimkins website, Kimmer seemed to have it all --- a successful diet plan, satisfied customers who were easy to please, low overhead, and a competent business partner who made her ideas work. Her departure from LCF calmed down hostilities quite a bit all around, and Kimmer was left to operate her own site in her own little corner of the internet with little interference. If she had made the right moves then, Heidi/Kimmer might possibly have been able to continue on course to a legitimate business success for quite some time to come. However, because Kimmer at her core is a fraud, it was inevitable that any enterprise built on that basis would soon begin to crumble.

Kimmer was not only a fraud in her own personal claims of large, rapid weight loss, but she soon began building the business of Kimkins around fraud at virtually every level --- member service, marketing, and management.

~ Fraudulent Member Service: She lied to her members about the safety and efficacy of her diet plans, leading them to believe her plans were safely based on the recognized plans of doctors such as Dr. Atkins and Dr. Stillman, while continuing to push them ever farther away from the cautions and sensible limits of those plans. She assured members it was safe, because, after all, it had worked so well for her, or so she said. She also began to be less and less available to members, despite her promised member benefit of 'personal coaching'. She ignored or gave inadequate and misleading answers to valid member concerns. This was because she apparently preferred to spend her energies on marketing, to keep new paying customers coming in the front door while leaving the members mostly on their own to look out for one another.

~ Fraudulent Marketing: In her marketing campaign, she lied to prospective members by spamming Craigslist with fake listings to plug Kimkins, by posting phony 'articles' and answers and numerous blogs for Kimkins all over the internet under various names, by promoting Kimkins with false implied celebrity endorsements specifically to target teens, and primarily by posting numerous fraudulent 'success' stories with 'lifted' and photoshopped 'before' and 'after' pictures. She also made numerous claims she had no proof of or right to make, in violation of FTC regulations.

~ Fraudulent Management: Heidi/Kimmer entered into partnership with Catherine originally under false pretenses, and continued to lie to her about many things, including the source of the 'success stories'. It also appears that Heidi skimmed a certain part of the gross proceeds from the partnership before profits were split, by funneling income to supposed affiliate accounts which actually led back to her. It is unclear whether proper legal or tax filings were ever made, though it does not appear they were.

In matters big and small, every bit of the Kimkins enterprise was fraught with deception. It was bound to catch up to her sooner or later.

Before too long, Catherine began to have concerns about Heidi's integrity, and backed out of the partnership. At this point, Kimmer claims to have brought in 4 other partners to finance Catherine's buyout, but this is highly doubtful. For one thing, one of the partners she claims to have brought in at that time is Heidi Diaz, but photographic and written evidence clearly shows that Kimmer herself is Heidi Diaz. (For example, Kimmer has always acknowledged that Catherine was her partner in the beginning, and Catherine signed the original partnership agreement with Heidi Diaz.) Other names mentioned as possible 'partners' include Dennis Sharp (her son), Vanessa Sharp and/or Romero (Vanessa Romero is her niece), Nicki or Nikki Sharp, and Tish Diaz. It is extremely unlikely that these relatives are actually working, decision-making partners as Kimmer leads people to believe. It is possible they put up some money so Heidi could buy out Catherine; it is possible she got money from them under some other pretext; it is very possible they know little or nothing, and she is just using their names to seem like a larger and more legitimate enterprise. Nicki and later Vanessa disappeared from the "Meet Your Team' roster some time ago, so it is possible they were based on actual people who became aware of the use of their identities, and protested it.

I have seen various things supposedly 'written' by some of those names and now Brad Johnson. To me. they all have the same unmistakable writing style, and are all almost surely written by Heidi herself, who freely admits to writing frequently under various male and female names. No one has ever spoken or communicated with any of them, except through Kimmer, and she trotted out the same excuses over and over as to why they were not available. (Usually they were 'called out of town to deal with a sick father'.) Kimmer herself often spoke to me of doing all affiliate payouts and answering affiliate questions, even though she supposedly had an affiliate manager. These 'partners' were probably a construct that Kimmer used to pass blame, as when criticizing someone ('the partners don't think they are getting their money's worth') or floating unpopular ideas ('the partners are pressing to make the fees monthly vs. lifetime membership', which she brought up to me several times), as well as to provide other 'identities' under which to hide income.

In fact, there is no good reason to assume that the entity of Kimkins is anything other than Heidi Diaz sitting at her computer pumping out fraudulent marketing and picking up funds from Paypal and the mailbox, with a tech guy or two working remotely and unaware of the real situation, and paid and unpaid admins and members doing the heavy lifting on the site.

The best of businesses, with a solid business plan and an experienced team of managers would have been hard pressed to absorb the massive explosion of growth that occurred with the Woman's World magazine feature. Kimmer only had forum helpers with very little knowledge of the true nature of the business; after all, she could not afford to bring anyone into her confidence, because she had too many secrets to hide. So, Heidi was suddenly way out of her league. She was gleeful at the funds rolling in, and foolishly thought she could continue to get away with the same type of scamming indefinitely. She was even in contact with Star magazine for another feature. Who knows? Maybe she even thought she could lose the weight, go legit, and make it work. However, her newfound success soon began to cave in on her.Once thousands of new members hit the site and began trying to understand and apply the diet, the pressure was too heavy and all the cracks in the foundation soon began to appear. Without the personal mentoring and reinterpretation of the diets that new members had received before, the flaws and gaps in Heidi's business soon became very evident. Many of those coming in with fresh eyes clearly saw the disparity between what was promised and what was delivered. Many clearly saw the dangers of the diet plans, all of them. Of the 40,000 or more who joined, most never even tried the diet once they actually saw it, and many who did try it did not stick with it long. Meanwhile, all the massive attention the diet was receiving reignited the souldering controversy that she thought she had left behind at LCF. However, Heidi did have two things working in her favor: the misplaced support of people like me who encouraged new members to stick with it, and the absolute sheer desperation of overweight people who had almost given up hope. For my own blindness and supporting role in it, I am sick-to-my-stomach sorry, and beg forgiveness.

At this time, Heidi seemed manic with delight over the income rolling in, and eager to spin off new ventures - more magazine and media features, merchandise, and related enterprises like the nutrition business she offered me. She could hardly be bothered with member support or complaints, and brushed off all concerns as something irrelevant, hardly worthy of her attention, even as worrisome side effects and evidences of her dishonesty mounted. Thus, the round of emails I pressed on her, with the results that we admins began to leave and express our concerns and experiences.

Our exits and warnings further precipitated a rash of blockings and bannings, as other members took up the banner and began speaking out. The business of Kimkins is now woefully in breech of the terms of their agreement with their members, who paid for lifetime membership in a healthy and safe diet followed by a woman who lost 198 lbs in 11 months and maintained it, only to be booted without warning when they complained that the diet was unsafe and the owner's story was a lie. Members have had 'privileges' like private messaging and blog links in their signatures revoked, have been flamed and harangued mercilessly for any hint of breaking ranks, and have been banned without warning, redress, or refund on the vaguest pretext of 'violation of Terms of Service', which, like the diet plans and disclaimers, are an ever-moving target, conveniently changed after the fact.

Kimmer had it all --- a million dollar website, a great staff, great member loyalty, and great future prospects. And due to great greed, arrogance, and dishonesty she threw it away.

Kimmer is now behaving like a rat backed into a corner, biting and snarling, while looking for a way of to escape unscathed. She is starting to meltdown, trying to cover her tracks and salvage what she can, leaving more of the running of things in the hands of unqualified admins. Perhaps she still thinks she can pull it off, or perhaps she is making her exit plans. As she continues to overestimate herself and underestimate her opponents, she will find, once again, that she has made a grave mistake in waiting too long.

Kimmer is a dangerous fraud, and the business of Kimkins is a dangerous fraud.

Both need to be stopped, and the sooner, the better.

Another Kimkins member fires a parting shot!

The following post was quoted by Deni in a post she made this afternoon on ALC (Active Low-Carber Forums). Deni lost a tremendous amount of weight "doing" Kimkins but is now suffering health issues as a result of the Kimkins deadly low-fat/low-calorie/low-carb diet.

Deni's post reveals that a member of Kimkins just posted this on the Kimkins website, and I'm repeating it here for posterity purposes, as well as to warn anyone who is considering the Kimkins diet.

As former members of Kimkins who have questioned Kimmer/Heidi Diaz and her deadly diet can attest, this member is sure to be banned within the hour.

Here's the post on ALC:

"....from Kimkins... I remember you! WAy to go!!!Here's her most recent post!!!"
(Deni's remark)

"Quote: (The following is the post made by the Kimkins member on the Kimkins website):

It's going to be okay. 4 Minutes ago

So, probably none of you remember me, but I started KK at the very end of March. I had a marvelous time, met numerous true friends with whom I am still in (near-constant) contact (Hi guys!!) and managed to lose 30 pounds. At this point, I must note that I never cut fat and took every weekend off-plan. So it wasn't exactly KK that I was doing. But I was very happy and, having never experienced or utilised ketosis before, felt grateful to have found "the plan".

Once we switched over to the new site, it got a little big for me, so I pretty much gave up posting and just read a little here and there. As I said, I was never militant about the diet (don't fence me in, baby!), but appreciated being able to return to the forums to keep up with friends.

Once this whole drama started to unfold, I researched enough to form my opinion and decided that I can't give even tacit support to this plan or it's founder. I started deleting my posts and saying my goodbyes. And since so many people are carrying on the dialogue so effectively, I might have been persuaded to fade quietly away with no parting message.

Except that one thing is still bothering me.

Months ago, several of us tried to help a woman who was doing her best to follow Kimmer's plan. She had struggled with eating-disorder-type behavior before, and was having a hard time believing that she could just eat as much as she wanted while getting into ketosis. She would try to see how long she could go without eating and we would remind her that that wasn't how "the plan" worked.

Apparently she had posted or PM'd to Kimmer, because one day she posted an furious rant in her journal about how we had misled her and Kimmer had set her straight about why she wasn't losing weight. The whole thing was a little distressing, and there was some confusion about whether she was in ketosis or not, but that was not the part that troubled me the most.

Here is the post in its entirety- the capitals are from the member; she quotes Kimmer's message in the middle:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -

DO NOT COME HERE AND TELL ME I'M STARVING MYSELF

PER KIMMER:

[Name], sorry to say but you have to pay the piper. Your weight increase is due to going off plan and overeating. I've posted many times that a cheat will set you back 4-7 days -- that is, to get back to where you were before the cheat.

No way around it. A good reminder if the idea ever crosses your mind again! Ketosis is a chemical state. Mess with it and all weight loss hell breaks loose!

If someone tells you you're starving, just do the calculation in your head of how much "food" you have hanging on your body. Multiply fat pounds by 3500. You won't "starve" until all of those are gone. [emphasis added]

THAT EQUALS 866,520 I WILL NOT STARVE UNTIL ALL OF THAT IS GONE...I WISH I HAD LISTENED TO MYSELF AND CONTINUED DOING THIS MY WAY...I WOULD NOT BE IN THIS SITUATION NOW.

I'M SO MIFFED.

---------------------------------------------------------

This has been bothering me for months.

So here is what I've wanted to say about it:

What the heck kind of advice is that, Kimmer? You won't starve until all your fat pounds are gone?

That's nonsense. And we all know it.

This was the Exact Moment that I started to realize that you are not what you say you are.

It's not just that this woman took you too seriously, or just that she was already predisposed to misinterpret what you were saying. You actually said: you won't starve until your fat pounds are gone.

What's a fat pound, anyway? And which ones?

I don't want anyone to miss this: you essentially told her that she would be okay to starve her way to goal.

It's clear from reading the rest of her journal that this poor woman took your punishing advice and was doing her best to Never Eat Again.

I can only think of a few possible reasons why you would instruct a person in this way.

1) You actually haven't a clue how the body works.

2) You hate or don't care about the person.

3)You want their money or the authority/recognition/applause more than you actually want to help.

4) All of the above.

Which is it, Kimmer?

Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable

Logged

She had me fooled, too.

But dont be afraid of her or of the truth: do your OWN research and make your OWN decision.

Read THIS.

Then read Beckys Blog.

Read The Truth.

Read about low fat diets.

Heres what I saw when I did:

1. She lies to us and to her admins regularly.

2. She cant produce evidence of her weight loss (the reason we all believed her) or of her claims about Kimkins. Her success NEVER happened.

3. She denies it, but this plan hurts people hopefully more than the 6 views already made get to see it!!!

FaithM writes of her struggles & suffering as a result of the Kimkins Diet...

Another LCF member, FaithM, wrote a very poignant post this morning about her day-to-day struggles and suffering as a result of the Kimkins Diet:

"...I just finished watching Christin's video blog. It was extremely upsetting and yeah, I am in tears, crying for her. And for all of us. Even after all these pages I am upset to my stomach. I'm shaking and my heart's beating heavy and I question myself whether I want to even bring myself into this any further because I don't want to make it sound like I am making it all about me, because I'm not trying to do that. I do want to talk about it with you guys though because we all know what each other has been/is going through. Well ok, maybe only sometimes I want to talk about it. Sometimes I want to just sit back and continue watching this whole mess unfold, denying I got caught up in it too. But the truth is I suffer through every single day worrying about how I am going to right things in my mind and body! I just don't want to gain all of my weight back.

Kimkins, K/E, and all her "variations" of this diet screw up a person's mentality like nobody's business and right now my head is pretty messed up. I know there are some moves I've been needing to make on my part that I haven't done yet and that is my fault. It sounds wrong but I keep telling myself I have to worry about getting the rest of the weight off before anything else and that's all that matters.

I just went through the last 2 days on a sugar/carb binge and this morning mapping out how I was going to get by on as little as I possibly can to try and make up for it. Then I watched Christin's video and now I don't know what the hell I'm going to do because it hit me so hard, the realities of it all.

The destructive cycle just has to end. Not just with me but with everybody who has fallen into this crap trap. The more I read about it and the longer it goes on and the longer innocent people stay in the dark and the not so innocent people keep on supporting it...the more angry and pissed off I get! This is so freakin' NOT LEGAL!!"

Please, if you are contemplating starting the Kimkins Diet, DON'T! It will ruin your mind, body, health and life.

MyCannelloni reveals the Kimkins Diet's effects on her...

On Low-Carb Friends this morning, MyCannelloni writes of the serious decline of her health as a result of following the Kimkins Diet. She, like Christin, suffered from heart arrhythmia, esophageal spasms, etc.

Here is what she posted:

"Christin's video has brought all of my Kimkins horror memories back up.

I was only on it for a few months, but I started it after I had reached goal (115). I wanted to lose a few more pounds. I ended up weighing in near the bottom of "normal weight" per the BMI chart, but my frame is between medium and large, so I think I was at the absolute bottom at 104 lbs.

I experienced the loss of ovulation, severe panic and anxiety attacks, rapid heartbeat and arrhythmia. I attributed this all to stress since my personal life was indeed very stressful.

But the worst part was the incredibly painful and scary chest pain. Gallbladder problems were ruled out. I began to have reflux 24/7. I was worried I had esophageal cancer. The mysterious pain was so unnerving that I had crying spells and couldnt enjoy being model-thin. Finally it became evident that I was having terrible esophageal spasms. I also ended up attributing this to stress, and some extended release anti-spasmodic medicine helped a great deal.

It wasn't until I found out about Heidi's lies that I questioned her program. In the course of one weekend reading the first Fascination thread, I realized that I was anorexic while doing Kimkins and had no idea.

And now I wonder if my body's freaking out due to stress was also linked with or was directly caused by my starvation menus. I never told my primary care doctor how few calories I was eating (at the low end of my BMI!). I didn't tell my GI doctor either. I'll never know if it was stress or an eating disorder that caused my health problems.

There's one thing I do know. I was starving and thought I was in safe territory because I believed I had excess body fat, and Kimmer had me convinced that eating little to nothing was dandy if there was excess body fat present. I am actually grateful to be several pounds above goal right now. I'm better off now than I was at 104...struggling to find suits for job interviews because the size 2 skirts slid off of my hips..."

Considering Kimkins? WAIT! Please see Christin's video blog!!!

In a poignant, heartbreaking video, Christin talks about the serious health issues she has experienced and is currently experiencing as a result of the Kimkins diet.

Christin, the woman who was recently featured on the cover of Woman's World magazine, lost 100 pounds while on the Kimkins diet. As well as losing weight, she also lost not only 60% of her hair but has been recently suffering heart arrhythmia and esophageal contractions, causing severe pain in her chest cavity.

As a result of the arrhythmia and esophageal contractions, Christin was rushed to Emergency this week. These are very serious and potentially deadly results of the Kimkins diet.

Please visit Christin's blog, The Journey, to watch her video. It is moving, heartfelt, and will save your life if you're either considering or following the Kimkins diet.

Kimmer's Kids/Teens Love Her Egg Muffins??

Well, I was a little bored this afternoon, so I thought I'd roam around the Kimkins site.

I noticed in Kimmer's Blog a link to an Egg Muffin recipe, so I clicked on it. In the comments section, Kimmer writes in response to a question from imtxgrl:

imtxgrl said...

These look great. What is the serving size, one or two? And what is the carb count? I think even my six year old will eat these!

September 1, 2007 8:18 PM

Kimmer said...

Imtxgrl, my kids love them! They think it's cool to eat eggs with a napkin (they're teens so they grab one to eat on the way to the bus stop). Carb count will depend on what you add, but figure 1 carb per egg, .5-1 carb if you add veggies.Nutritious, fast and delicious! (emphasis mine)

Kimmer said...

Oops, forgot -- serving is 1, but for Kimkins members we don't limit portions except on Boot Camp. :) Enjoy! Get your 6 year old to help you!"

Kids? Teens? Sounds like you've got a full house there, Kimmie.

Actually, you sound much too civil in those posts to be Kimmer. Tippy??? Is that you??? Nah, you're as sarcastic and biting as Heidi. Gotta be a sock puppet with manners, methinks.

So, Heidi / Kimmer, all these stories are fake?

So, Heidi / Kimmer, you think all these survivors' stories are fake? Just take a little gander at Kendra's post from her blog below:

"Monday, September 17, 2007

After a lot of soul searching and reading many things online, I think for a while one of my main topics here is going to have to be the Kimkins diet and web site. maybe I should start at the beginning.

I started to read about the Kimkins diet on LCF because it had all the info for free, but then I found Kimkin's web site. For a small price (or so it seemed) I could join their forum and have access to personal replies from "Kimmer" the fouder and woman who created the diet. She said that she had lost almost 200 pounds in something like less than a year and has managed to keep it off going on 6 years. Sounded wonderful and just what I needed. I paid my fee and joined. There were great friends made there, great admins ect. But I must say it bothered me when I read a lot of the advice given. I started following th plan and when I asked a question, most of the time it was someone ether than kimmer answering. Fine I could live with that. These people seemed to know what they were doing. I took everything at face value and yes I did drop pounds and at a rapid speed. But I was having side effects. If I were to ask about them, I was told This is normal... you are loosing so well, don't worry about the small things, everything will correct itself and you will be so much healthier skinny then when you were obese. I played this diet game for a little over 5 months and I have to say yes I lost a lot of weight, but I was not feeling at all healthy, fit or attractive. I had no energy, my hair was falling out and my Husband pretty much had to force me to eat and then I would feel the guilt after I ate. Looking back I now see that I was (and still am) dealing with an eating disorder I developed while doing Kimkins. The last starw was when I passed out at my child's soccer game and my Husband had to call 911. I spent 4 days in the hospital because I was dehydrated, my heart had an abnormal beat and I was made to meet with a nutritonalist counsler before they would release me. I was told that the way of eating that I was following would damage my heart, gall bladder, kidneys, brain function and hormonal levels along with a list of many other possible side effects if I kept it up. This was the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. I was following this WOE to become helthy, to have more energy so I could chase my kids around and play with them, to feel more attractive and to improve myself.

But in the truth, I seen that I was damaging myself and those around me. Sure I lost over 70 pounds. but at what cost? I could hardly get out of bed some days. I was moody all the time. I couldn't give my Husband and children the attention they needed. Now 3 months later, I am still going to my doctor every few weeks and getting blood work done. I have had scans and tests on every part of my body (and it feels like my soul too) I am sure there is some damage done that can't be seen right now and it may show itself in the future. But even with the remains of the damage I had done I still see it when I look in the mirror everyday. Yes my hair is starting to grow back, but to deal with so much hair loss, I felt like a freak and didn't want to be seen by anyone. I lived in hats (and still do most of the time) So much of my life has been taken away by Kimkins, and all I wanted from it was to get my life back.

Come on lady-5 months to develop an eating disorder? I think you suffered some kind of problem before you started Kimkins. The damage you're talking about happens over the long term-5 months is not very long at all.

KendraThank you for sharing your story and letting others KNOW that this diet is dangerous. At first the diet makes you think you have found the answer to any weight problems because of the appetite suppression, but the potential danger is there lurking. I am afraid we will be hearing about the fallout from this WOE more as time moves forward...I am walking with you in this journey as well and the unknown of the future is very concerning for all of us.I will add you to my blogroll to help spread the word and add my blog if you would.take care,HoneyBeehttp://honeybeesblog.wordpress.com/

A Farewell to Kimkins from Kelly130

Last night, an ex-Kimkins member, Kelly130, revealed her farewell post to Kimkins on LCF:

"I copied my last kimkins post before I left:

My dear friends,This is Farewell for me…………I will not be posting on the kimkins website anymore. I cannot in good conscience belong to this site anymore. I have been reading other websites although I have NEVER posted on another site, nor given communications from this site to ANYONE. I am not a mole. And how sad it is that I feel I have to say that! I have just become increasingly disillusioned with kimkins……..and it has affected my weight loss, so I feel I need to end this chapter and start anew, on more of an atkins diet.Having read whats out there, I am 99.99% positive that those pictures of the extremely overweight woman are of Kimmer. Kimmer IS Heidi Diaz, and its laughable to claim they are 2 different people.

Many of you say you do not care how heavy Kimmer is. But I ask you this: do you care that you’ve been lied to? Do you care that she is dishonest? How can you trust anything she says, after this? I have many health concerns about this diet. Kimmer says there is not a “starvation mode”, that people’s metabolisms will NOT be shot after following an extreme low-calorie diet. Many other people say otherwise. AND SINCE KIMMER IS SO OBESE, I WORRY THAT SHE SHOT HER OWN METABOLISM AND WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF.

For those of you staying on kimkins, since I care so much for you, please, please, be pro-active in your own healthcare. Do not trust Kimmer. Do not trust your own doctor, who probably never in his/her life took a medical course on safe weight loss. Read, read, read. And make your own decisions. Gall bladder. I PM’ed Kimmer early on and asked her about gall bladders…….she told me “low-fat doesn’t cause gall bladder problems.”…….umm, that’s not what I’ve been reading elsewhere. I can’t trust anything she says now. Thyroid problems from a very low-cal diet? Those are permanent. Hair loss? WHY IS KIMMER BALD?? I would like to know the answer to that question, and yes I think it is relevant. Kimkins dieting causing eating disorders?

I ask all of you to watch yourselves and make sure that you are not being overly obsessive about what you eat. “How low can you go.” That is NOT healthy!!!!People are being “banned” left and right for seemingly minor infractions………posts are being rapidly deleted and journals are being “sanitized.” This is not what I signed up for. XXXXX, the last straw for me is that “WWWWW” HAS BEEN BANNED! Can you believe that?? She posted an almost-suicidal, despairing note, XXXXX and others wrote her back full of love and support, and SHE WAS BANNED. That broke my heart…….how cruel and selfish are these people!! She doesn’t know why she was banned. Is the thread even still there? I can’t remember where it was.

This post will probably be deleted soon……..I will email this post to all of you whom I have email addresses for…..I do not want you to think I just disappeared one day without a trace…..then, I will not bother you again. To all my dear, dear, dear friends: Good Luck on your weight loss journeys. I KNOW we will all reach goal. Take care of yourselves, and above all, stay healthy. This is not a race. Maybe some day, after I’ve had some time off from these message boards, I will see some of you over at YYYY forums or ZZZZ forums……….LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Kelly130 later PM'd Kimmer /Heidi:

"And My PM to Kimmer:I am writing to request a refund on the grounds of fraudulent advertising.I quote your home page: "It's called Kimkins and was developed by me, Kimmer, in 2000 when I weighed a morbidly obese 318 pounds! In less than a year I lost 198 pounds and kept it off!" Regardless of what you maintain publicly, you know as well as I do that that claim is false and would be proved so in a court of law.

If you refuse to give me a refund, I will start by filing a complaint with Paypal, and the BBB, referring to the fraud that you are perpetrating.Furthermore, if you REFUSE to refund my money, I insist that you DO NOT BAN me and that you continue to allow me FULL ACCESS to the site, including ALL FORUMS. Asking for a refund is no reason to ban me, and you have not heard the last of me if you do chose to ban me without a refund. Again, If it comes to that, I will start by filing a complaint with Paypal and the BBB, again referring to the fraud you are perpetrating."

Congrats, Kelly130, on leaving the sinking Kimkins ship and sharing your experiences with us. Good health to you always!

Jimmy Moore slams Kimkins / Kimmer / Heidi Diaz today

Jimmy Moore, of Livin' La Vida Low-Carb, dishes today on the whole Kimkins mess:

The Kimkins Calamity: From Merely A Raw Business Deal To A Really Big Danger

As much as I have tried to distance myself from the still growing controversy over the low-carb imposter diet known as Kimkins since my public apology for once supporting it nearly two months ago, new revelations that cannot be ignored keep bringing it back to the forefront and warrant further exposure here. THIS IS TOO IMPORTANT TO JUST IGNORE!

When the virtual face of Kimkins--Becky, Christin, and Deni--decided to distance themselves from the diet earlier this month, it was a tremendous blow to the reputation of Kimkins that promises "super-fast results" by restricting fat, calories, and carbs. These three beautiful women were the heart and soul of Kimkins and their departure has left the Kimkins web site with a very noticeable lack of love and concern that it had become known for (incidentally, all three of them are now at my forum providing support like they once did at Kimkins).

But then when it was discovered by a private investigator that the founder of this diet who calls herself Kimmer (her real name is Heidi Kimberly Diaz despite the fact she told me personally that Heidi was both her real name and her cousin on two different occasions) is a morbidly obese woman who never lost weight according to her son and ex-husband and has a very long history of being a scam artist, I could no longer remain silent.

If you are a member of the low-carb community, then this issue with Kimkins should be of grave concern to you. What started out as a seemingly innocent-looking diet that's "just another low-carb plan" (it isn't really, but that's how it is being portrayed) has turned into something really ugly that is now having a negative impact on the lives of real people. That's right--PEOPLE ARE GETTING HURT FROM BEING ON KIMKINS!

One such person it is having a direct impact on is the Woman's World cover girl Christin herself who lost 100 pounds in five months on the Kimkins diet. I don't know if you've heard about this yet or not, but she was admitted to the hospital last night with chest pains and has been referred to a cardiologist. Her pulse dipped into the upper 30's and that has the doctors worried for her heart health.

They have ordered Christin to rest today and she is on pain medication to help relieve the chest pains until she can see the cardiologist.

"They did all the tests for major cardiac issues and ruled them out," Christin wrote at my forum. "EKG, blood work, chest x-rays, all came back normal so that is good...please keep praying. I'm pretty sore today (in my heart), but feeling a bit better."

Add this to the other side effects Christin admitted she experienced while on Kimkins, including her hair falling out and missing her menstrual cycle for five months in a row and it is quite disconcerting to say the least. While it is unclear whether this chest pain issue is related to the Kimkins diet or not, it's certainly difficult to ignore.

Then you have Deni who lost 60 pounds in three months on Kimkins and she is now wondering where the "warning label" about this diet is at her blog this week after experiencing some rather odd side effects since being on the diet, too: extra periods, hair loss, dizzy spells, blurred vision, heart flutters, and intense cravings. All of this came in the pursuit of weight loss so she could live a healthier life for her family.

The irony of it all isn't lost on Deni.

"I said that one of the reasons why I wanted to lose weight was because I wanted to be here long enough to see my kids and future grand kids grow up," Deni wrote in her blog this week. "Now, it's possible that losing weight has lowered the chances of that actually happening."

More tests are being run on Deni to see if the damage that was done can be fixed. Please pray for Christin, Deni, and all the others who have received the grim news about the damage to their health that may have been caused by their participation in the Kimkins diet. What a travesty this would be if hundreds, even thousands more following the dictates of this scam diet plan were to have their health ruined, too!

Is it just mere coincidence that the two most prominent Kimkins weight loss success stories are now having to deal with this kind of thing? Why is something like this even allowed to exist when real people have DOCUMENTED proof that they have been damaged as a result of this low-carb imposter diet scheme cooked up by an extremely overweight woman named Heidi Diaz?

If anyone is considering going on the Kimkins diet, then let me warn you: PLEASE DON'T! There are better ways to shed the pounds that are a part of a happy and healthy low-carb lifestyle. You can find information and support for these plans at my new "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Discussion" forum so you can shed the pounds in a healthy and safe manner. Eating at least 1200 calories a day with ample protein at each meal, limiting your carbohydrates from mostly non-starchy veggies (green leafy), and getting healthy amounts of fat will put you on the pathway to success in your low-carb lifestyle. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

As for Kimkins, please do your research by checking up on this growing list of web sites for detailed information about how this diet is nothing more than a ruthless money-making scheme that has been perpetrated on unsuspecting victims by someone who doesn't care a bit in the world about the weight and health of the people she comes into contact with.

Anyone who doubts this (especially those who are still supporting Heidi despite all the evidence inside Kimkins) should get introspective and take a long, hard look at all that has transpired over the past couple of months. If you do that, then there's no other choice for you but to distance yourself as much as possible from this shyster. It is for the best and you'll be so glad you did.

For those of you who were either employed by or were affiliates of Kimkins and are concerned this scam artist Heidi Diaz may try to use your Social Security number for her devious schemes, you may want to try LifeLock to protect yourself as I did. For less than $10 a month, they guarantee your credit and identity will be kept safe from evildoers (like Heidi) and you get a copy of your credit report twice a year along with that service. Additionally, they stop all those annoying credit card offers within a couple of months and alert you anytime someone tries to open a line of credit in your name using your private information. It's the best protective purchase I've made in a long time and it may be just what you need to protect yourself, too! Regardless, good luck to you and here's hoping your sensitive information was not compromised.

The moral of this story surrounding the Kimkins calamity is simple: be very careful about who and what you choose to associate yourself with. I learned my lesson as have many others who were sucked in by this. What began as merely a raw business deal has now turned into something much worse. It's without a doubt a really big danger for the health of those who are on this low-fat/low-calorie starvation diet.

How many more lives will need to be hurt before something is done to bring an end to this? If you want to get pro-active in stopping this dangerous dieting scheme before anyone else is harmed, then lodge a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Also, if you were a member of Kimkins and have been refused a refund, consider joining the class action lawsuit that has been filed against Heidi Diaz for fraud.

A Poignant Post from DreamweaverPA on LCF

Today, on Low-Carb Friends, DreamweaverPA, who followed the Kimkins diet, wrote this poignant post about the disastrous effects the diet had on her health and life:

"Hi everyone, I have been lurking these boards for a few years, and I did KK a few years ago. I did lose a lot of weight, but I also lost hair, (which most of it grew back now), lost a gallbladder, my thyroid is shot, and I am back up 65 pounds. I thought it was all from stress at the time, there was a lot of stuff going on in my life. I felt like I was worthless and went into a deep depression because I was so weak I couldn't stay on the diet longer than what I did. After following this thread from the beginning, I realize I would probably be dead by now, if I didn't stop when I did. I would hate for anyone else to go through what I went through because of a diet. I am a well educated 41 year old woman, who never thought I would be writing something like this, I felt so stupid until I read this thread, but this woman was so believable to me back then, and I was losing weight. I am going to stop rambling now. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that is bringing this all out in the open. I am sure there are many more people out there that are just like me, that are too ashamed that they fell for all of it, (It took me 3 different threads to even post). Thank you all once again, and let's not stop until she is stopped."

Another victim of Kimkins and Kimmer/Heidi Diaz.

Please keep spreading the word on the deadly effects of Kimkins.

I'm Still a Ghost in Your Machine, Kimmer

Kimmer thinks the Admin that was leaking stuff is gone. Kimmer thinks the PM system is now secure. We report, you decide.

First, be sure to read parts one and two posted here in the past week. Now take at look at an even more recent exchange:

Serena wrote:

Apparently it didn't work, because they did it again! I have never felt so insulted and violated, honestly!! I never realized how all-out war this would become between everyone. I am kind of happy I am not a very active member, never had a lot of time to post a thousand PM's and threads. I guess lurking is safer.

Kimmer wrote:

Serena, I just CANNOT tell you how sad this makes me. Whoever the "mole" admin was copied many things. I can't get those back. Nothing 'new' is copied, we removed that function. I know how horrible you must feel -- really I do! What is sad is that the person who is doing this was a member -- and she is stabbing those people in the back!

Whoever I was? Nothing 'new' is copied? Removed the function? Indeed. Yes I am still here, Kimmer, on the inside, and the only one I'm stabbing in the back are you and your flying monkey minions. You continue to lie to your members and commit fraud on a grand scale. I'm not going away, and I'll be here long after you are doing the "perp walk". So, where are you Heidi Diaz/Kimmer?

I've been on a slow boil for the past 2 months mulling over this whole Kimkins, Kimmer, Heidi Diaz scam.

After sending countless e-mails to the news media, governmental depts., etc. my slow boil is turning into a rolling boil. You'd think by now the story would have broken about this sociopathic/psychotic woman who has seduced, and continues to seduce, women and men desperate to lose weight, like a spider slowly pulling her catch into her mandibles.

So where are you Heidi/Kimmer? Basking in the sun in some exotic place with your ill-gotten millions, fanning yourself and drinking a tall Vodka tonic while your minions are running around putting out the fires at home? What I want to believe is that you're stuck in your apartment, with a broken air conditioner, afraid to show your mug to the outside world. But I fear you've long fled.

Justice is a funny thing. You might not get yours now but, honey, it's coming. And better late than never.

There's an old Scottish proverb that comes to mind:

"They speak of my drinking but never think of my thirst."

The Slimmer Kimmer That Wasn't

I once read a post on blog etiquette (can't recall where) and it stated that it was a bloggers responsibility to comment on current affairs. Just for today I am going to fulfill my responsibility because I would like to feel like a conformist little netizen - today it's my civic duty as a low-carber to give you my take on the Kimkins scandal, or as I have affectionately dubbed it KimmerGate - Controversy at it's best. I'm not sure exactly how it all came to the crescendo it has but I'm pretty sure I've read the most of it. Unfortunately I don't have the time to into the nitty gritty details because I do have to go get cuticle balm this morning. Still, I am doing my best to give you an outline and lots of places to go to check out this juicy bucket of gossip that is deliciously irresistible.

First of all I just have to say that I have never tried, nor advocated Kimkins and I have paid no money for access to the Kimkins site. Hell I don't even know anybody who has been on Kimkins, so of course I am the perfect person to get up and give my opinion on it because I've read it all and have duly formed one of my arsey little opinions - think of me as your back-seat driver.

Now we get to the good part. I honestly never thought I would find a bigger scammer than Dr Phil, but it would seem that she is out there going by the name of Kimmer (aka) Heidi Diaz - although, the lady in the spotlight would have you believe otherwise at the moment (see further down for explanation). Here are some pictures - supposedly Kimmer/ Heidi. I got these pictures from Low Carb Friends:

She says she is ALL of these women but No SILLY! Ha ha ha, you funny girl you *tsk* because DUDE, no matter how skinny you get, unless you work on the set of those Mission Impossible movies (aptly named dontcha think?) you can't change your AGE or your BONE STRUCTURE. So I went ahead and put my own slant on things. I think it looks much much better.

It would seem that this lady here

has decided that she knows something about diet and nutrition. She started out on Low Carb Friends saying that she had lost 200lbs in 11 months. Thats almost 91 kilos! Holy shamoly - uh oh I can smell something .. is it ..bullshit? Oh, did I really say that? Anyways, she copped a few nay sayers on Low Carb Friends because some said her pictures were dodgy (Nooo! Really?) so she took herself and a few followers off to set up her own website where you had to pay to get access. She says she took the Atkins diet and the Stillmans diet and 'tweaked' them to come up with Kimkins. Really what she did is only known to her because to the rest of us it just looks like she wanted to starve a bunch of people to death. According to people on Kimkins forums she was saying that you can live on 400 to 500 calories and its GOOD - a perverse diet limbo of how-low-can-you-go. She even made up her own clever little abbreviation called SNATT. Stands for Semi Nauseus All The Time and it's the place you want to be on Kimkins! Want some undies or a mousepad with that on it? Head to her online shop and you can buy yourself up a storm (okay maybe not the undies, but the mousepad is all go). So in the land of Kimmer the urge to ralph 24/7 is a good thing, wonder what our Dr Phil would have to say about that? As nutty as that bastard can be, he at least has a staff of researchers to make sure the shit he says can be sourced/verified by some mostly innocuous credible extrapolations. Not to mention he has qualifications. Unlike Heidi who just uses the force to concoct her crap without so much as a sniff of a degree or common sense.

As you can imagine people started getting sick and some developed nasty little eating disorders while on the Scamkins Kimkins program. They were losing hair, getting all nauseous, feeling dizzy - pretty much unable to go about their daily business as usual for the fatigue and side effects of this preposterous eating plan. I am sure I heard somewhere they had an egg white challenge, I shit you not - egg whites only diet - hmmm very nutritious. Unfortunately when the sickly folk asked about these issues on their support forums they were shoo'd under the carpet. They mustn't have been following the plan properly according to Kimmer. There are a bunch of stories at Kimkins Survivors you can take a peek at if you want to.

Then some dumbass magazine

went and ran a story about how this diet was better than gastric bypass surgery and they printed the fake pictures crediting them to one of Heidi Diaz's aliases, Kim Drake (Heidi's middle name is Kimberly and Drake is her mums middle name apparently). According to folk out there on WWW this brought in about 40 000 members. I can't be personally sure of those figures but you get the gist that she copped a stack of members and a stack of cash as Kimkins memberships had soared to $60 a pop. A lot of people are really annoyed at womens world because they showed the journalistic integrity of Patrick Poivre d'Arvor. Nice going and good to see that the magazine was concerned with health of their reading demographic. When Womens World were contacted they got a bit pissy and ordered that the people using this image of their magazine cover to cease and desist (thanks slamboard for the picture). To date they have not printed a retraction. I guess they figure they don't have to be morally responsible because they are a trash magazine. I will note in future that if I ever come across a copy (we don't get it here in Australia) I shall use it for toilet paper. But I strongly suspect when used in such a manner it will fail in it's purpose by only spreading the crap around rather than cleaning it up - oh look! You can parallel that with the publication and distribution of the Kimkins Story *HEE!* Two words, fact-checking people.

From what I can ascertain things kept getting worse with more people getting sick/ questioning Kimkins advice and many started being banned as anti-Kimkins, jealous of the plan because they were too weak to follow it. Fast forward to Heidi Diaz's ex business partner hiring a private investigator out to figure out what the frock was going on with all of this because throughout all of this nobody had ever met kimmer! What was discovered was that Heidi Diaz has disappeared up her own arse, evidenced here:

This really is a picture of Kimmer. So if she has lost 91 kilos and is now 118lbs (53kgs) she claims she is, then I am an anorexic. Seriously dude it looks like her left cheek alone is 53 kilos. Please, take no offence fat people of the world for I walk among you but come-the hell-on! What universe accepts THAT as 53 kilos? At the claimed weight she should packing a nice little pair 'o peaches, not giant fucking pumpkins ready for weigh in at the fair. I think she might have lied a little on her resume - oopsie!

It seems that the private investigator discovered that Heidi Diaz is a bald (like Telly Sevalis bald), morbidly obese woman. Again oopsie! So all the advice she has given her members has been shall we say, a tad misguided. She has also made some other bogus claims including:
.
Being a foster parent for which she accepted fundraised moneys for the kids - in her defense she was a foster carer ... just she had the kids removed .. cause they got drunk .. while she was drunk ... a long long long time ago .... in a land far far away HAHAHA - god I make me laugh!

AND

Her success stories that advocate the Kimkins way of living are shyte - she has lifted internet pictures to make the 'after' shots more dramatic in her success stories(unfortunately one was a known model - oopsie!). Interestingly she has a testimonial from a person who is dead (which could be an accurate account if it were included in the endorsement that they are dead; who knows if it is Kimkins related but they are really dead. So I guess Heidi has a Ouija board and some followers from the afterlife because I think this person has been dead a while). She also made up a blind person who gave a smashing review, she supposedly met Heidi at a braille institute. Again with the oopsie because the institute hadn't heard of her. Darn those pesky telephones!

There is much much more but the clock is ticking and I really do need that cuticle balm.
Now, in a wrap up three of her Admins resigned.
Becky is really worth reading because she is squealing like a piggy, Christin's is okay but doesn't get right down the to harcore nitty gritty like Becky, and Deni gives her side and thats about it. All pieces in the puzzle if you want to get the full picture. Also worth a squiz is The Truth because they are posting up things from the private Admin Forum and Pm's - it has a juicy gossip factor of 9.5, if they give me something really truly damning (like say a picture of Kimmer wharfing the number two special at her computer while giving out diet advice)I am not afraid of giving a 10. See. never let it be said I am a tough-love judge.

It would seem that the good ship Kimtanic is going down as someone has started a class action lawsuit, Heidi seems to think this doesn't matter because she has started denying that she is Heidi (HAHAHAHAHAHA) hmmm ok, but if you wade through all the posts here thats a weensy sccotch unbelievable. All Kimmers details match Heidi' Diaz's and throughout the evolution of this debacle Heidi has gone from being the lady of the hour herself, an employee, a business partner, a relative and incidentally is the person who receives all the money, but now all of sudden she ISN'T Kimmer - uh huh, hold on while I don my dip-shit mask so I can look like I believe that. I suppose she is trying to implement plausible deniability, except she isn't plausible and is being outed by her ex-husband too - how bad does that suck. Now the Kimmer camp are saying without documented medical evidence nobody has a leg to stand on which would be largely inaccurate because Kimmer has sold a diet plan through misrepresentation. Its known as fraud. Imagine buying a tin of baked beans because the label states they are baked beans, but when you get the can home and you open it you find it was really sardines; not just any sardines, but sardines that can make you quite sick. This chunky monkey seems to think everyone out there is a wee bit stupid! Whats worse is said chunkey monkey is listening to the legal advice from an eager to please admin who is using a very limited foray into the judicial system as basis for her assvice advice. I must reiterate I am in no way being comprehensive here, you really should follow all the links to get a true gauge for the extent of the scam Heidi Diaz is running.

There are a whole bunch of additional links that I should put here but haven't because again, my cuticles are screaming so with that I will leave you this parting piece of advice - if it's the size of Yeti and is doling out stupid dietary advice involving laxettes and low calories for weight management for the ample price of $60, then run .. I think you just met Kimmer.

Blogging Tips for the Revolution!

It does my heart good to see so many anti-kimkins bloggers! I swear, we need our own social network!I wanted to drop some tips about promoting your blog and helping it get as much exposure as possible.

I'm no expert but I know a little something about a little something.Every time you update, make sure to "ping" the services that notify the collective sites that keep track of weblogs and publish them. By doing this, you are letting them know that your blog has been updated and they will crawl and index your blog, publishing the new entries, which help to increase your blog's popularity. Two that I use are Pingoat and >Pingomatic, but they have a lot of the same services and you don't want to ping too much or you may be seen as spam and get blocked - so I would suggest using one or the other, or if one is down, use the other, etc.

Or, if you have the time, compare their services and set them up appropriately. I've just never had the time to do this!Use sites such as digg, StumbleUpon, and Technorati to vote on your own posts. Create an account there and it will only take a couple of clicks each time to vote. Then do a search for other anti-Kimkins items and vote on them also! In fact, again, if you have the time, whenever you find a new anti-kimkins entry, digg it, Stumble it, or Technorati fave it. If we make it a habit to do this often, it will help keep us all at the top of the pile (and pro-Kimkins at the bottom!).

Use FREE site submission tools to submit your blog to the search engines. You will have to confirm and accept many of them in your email, so be prepared for about 30 or more confirmation emails at once but just follow the directions and it will only take a few minutes to get the submission rolling. I use the one I get for free with my web hosting package (for other sites) - if you have other web hosting services, check and see if it offers this in your control panel. Or do a search for FREE site submission services and you'll find many. Remember, you want the FREE one, not the upgraded or advanced packages!

I have also used SubmitExpress in the past and it was great. Most of the blog directories want your blog to be at least 30 days old before it will accept them, and some even require 90 days. But there are many that don't have such a requirement, so you could go down this list of directories at WAHM and submit your link wherever possible.

Comment in other anti-Kimkins blogs such as (this one), KimkinsExposed, KimkinsDangers, KimkinsControversy, all of those in the Blog Rolls of each of the blogs, etc. That helps to spread your link and increase your recognition. There's many of us and our numbers are growing, but try to make it a point to drop a line or two as you read, and leave your link in your comment. If you have some html knowledge and know how to edit your metatags, add the appropriate keywords to that section to help your search engine rankings.

Pssst! This is what Kimmer is using for her Kimkins site: meta name="description" content="The Kimkins lean low carb plan is simple -- less fat than Atkins, less carbs than South Beach and faster weight loss than Weight Watchers!" meta name="keywords" content="loose weight,diets to loose weight,loose weight quickly,how to loose weight,loose weight fast,to loose weight,loosing weight,weight gain diets,weight gain tips,weight gaining diets,pregnancy weight gain,healthy weight gain,fast weight gain,fat weight,weight lost,food weight,dieting weight,quick weight,la weight lost,body fat weight,over weight,gaining weight,weight,weight control,healthy weight,weight idiots,diets to gain weight,reduce weight,loose pounds,diets,fat diets,lose 10 pounds,fat loss diets,appetite suppressant,lose 10 pounds fast,ketosis,domino effect, kimmer experiment,OAMC,boot camp,camp kimkins,starvation mode,metabolism"

I suggest using THOSE exactly and adding all of the anti-kimkins words in there too, along with diet fraud, scandal, Heidi Diaz, Kimmer, etc. Whatever else you can think of that an unsuspecting web searcher might type into a search engine. We want them to come to US, not HER! Post often! Search engines like fresh content. If you never update your site and let weeks and months go by, you'll slowly drop in the rankings. No need to post everyday - unless you want to, but 2-3x weekly or at least weekly would be best. Even bi-weekly is better than monthly or not at all. If you have nothing new to post, then post highlights of what the OTHER anti-Kimkins blogs are talking about. There will ALWAYS be some fresh material between the group of us all! Give a summary of new developments, a reminder of what people can do to help, or give a shoutout to new bloggers, link to the new posts so all of your readers can follow along.

That's all I can think of right now - please comment if you can think of something else we can do to help keep us on top!

I'm feeling a little uncomfortable/confused/perplexed...

I've been spending the past day catching up on the Fascination thread at LCF.

Yesterday afternoon and evening, photoshopped cartoons appeared in that thread depicting Kimmer/Heidi in various "humorous" situations. A few brought a faint smile to my face but not the reactions many posters on LCF expressed they had when they saw these cartoons. To me, some of their reactions seemed just a tad over the top. I won't get into specifics here but there seemed to be a lot of spitting of liquids over monitors/keyboards and ROFLMAOs with 5 or 6 smilies blinking and winking after their posts. Wassup with all those x%#@*! smilies??

I know that I have a good sense of humour, so I know I can't explain away my perplexed/confused/uncomfortable feelings on an inability to enjoy a good joke and laugh. Laughter truly is the best medicine. To be honest, though, I didn't find the photoshopped cartoons THAT funny.

What I did find rather strange was that many members, whose weight approximates that of Heidi/Kimmer, got such a big belly-laugh out of, to cite one example, her animated arse in stretch pants. And believe me...I have no love for Heidi/Kimmer. It just seemed a little off-base, IMHO.

I guess, in retrospect, what bothered me the most was realizing the amount of time it would have taken those LCF members to hunt down jokes, pictures of Heidi/Kimmer, photoshop them, save them, and then upload them to LCF, along with their post. I know some of them were sold down the river by Heidi/Kimmer and posting those cartoons would have been cathartic but...

...to my mind, instead of photoshopping and posting Heidi/Kimmer all over hell's half acre, that time could have been spent better in

(a) starting a blog, as Ducky suggested at Kimkins Exposed, to get the word out on the Web so that people considering Kimkins would have a head's up on the controversy before giving that nefarious witch, Kimmer, their $60;
(b) contacting Dateline, ABC's 20/20, governmental offices, etc;
(c) welcoming and supporting ex-Kimkinites on the forums;
(d) having a bubble bath with your rubber duck. After all, a duck in the hand is worth two in the bush.

End of rant.

Have I lost my sense of humour? Comments welcomed.
